Duties

Surveillance and Monitoring:
  • Maintain continuous visual surveillance of the pool area to promptly identify any signs of distress or unsafe behavior among swimmers.
  • Monitor water conditions, including temperature, clarity, and depth, to ensure optimal safety and comfort for patrons.
Enforcement of Safety Rules:
  • Enforce facility rules and regulations, such as age restrictions, diving policies, and proper use of flotation devices.
  • Educate patrons about pool safety guidelines, including no running, diving in designated areas, and refraining from rough play.
  • Communicate safety instructions and emergency procedures to swimmers and other facility users.
Emergency Response:
  • Respond immediately to emergencies, such as drowning, injury, or medical incidents, with appropriate rescue techniques and first aid interventions.
  • Perform water rescues using proper rescue equipment and techniques, and administer CPR or first aid as necessary.
Communication and Customer Service:
  • Provide courteous and professional assistance to patrons, answering questions, offering guidance, and addressing concerns.
  • Communicate effectively with swimmers and other facility users, providing information about pool amenities, schedules, and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a current lifeguard certification from a recognized organization, demonstrating proficiency in water rescue techniques, CPR, and first aid.
  • Excellent swimming abilities, including proficiency in various strokes, diving, and treading water for extended periods.
  • Good physical condition and stamina to perform duties effectively, including prolonged periods of standing, swimming, and performing rescues.
  • Keen attention to detail and strong observational skills to monitor swimmers and quickly identify signs of distress or unsafe behavior.
