Overview

A Cleaner is responsible for performing cleaning and sanitation tasks in various settings, ensuring a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for occupants or visitors. They play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness standards and promoting health and wellness in residential, commercial, or institutional facilities.


Duties

General Cleaning:
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
  • Dust furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, including countertops and appliances.
Restroom Sanitation:
  • Clean and disinfect restroom fixtures, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors.
  • Refill soap dispensers, paper towel holders, and toilet paper rolls as needed.
  • Empty and sanitize trash receptacles.
Trash Removal:
  • Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables.
  • Replace trash liners and ensure bins are clean and odor-free.
Surface Disinfection:
  • Use appropriate cleaning agents to disinfect high-touch surfaces, such as doorknobs, light switches, and handrails.
  • Follow established protocols for infection control and prevention.
Floor Care and Maintenance:
  • Strip, wax, and buff floors as needed.
  • Perform spot cleaning and stain removal on carpets and rugs.
  • Ensure floors are clean, dry, and free of hazards.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in commercial or residential cleaning preferred.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
