Overview

Equipment Operator to take care of all the machinery and tools used on our site. The operator will be responsible for maintaining equipment in good condition and ensuring it is used properly and safely by the workers. The role requires good communication skills to share information with supervisors and co-workers, the ability to read and understand operator manuals, safety instructions, and procedures, and basic math knowledge to handle measuring instruments and read gauges correctly.

The candidate should be able to follow verbal directions carefully, maintain good working relationships with the team and the public, and communicate in a polite and professional manner. Writing skills are also important for neatly and clearly completing reports when required.

Training will be provided on-site, covering the proper use of various heavy machines used for construction and maintenance work. The operator will also be taught about safety rules, common causes of accidents, and preventive measures to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.


Duties

Supervision on Heavy Duty Machinery

  • The Equipment Operator is responsible for performing safety and maintenance inspections of assigned equipment. They continuously monitor gauges and other indicators for non-standard conditions.
  • This role involves knowledge of practices applied in the use of a wide variety of heavy equipment for various maintenance and construction operations, as well as knowledge of safety rules, including accident causes and prevention. These skills are typically taught on the job

Performs safety and maintenance inspections of assigned equipment

  • The Equipment Operator performs safety and maintenance inspections of the equipment they are assigned to operate.
  • This includes continuously monitoring gauges and other indicators for any non-standard conditions, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the equipment.

Perform day to day task related to all Equipments and Machinery tools

  • Operator frequently stands to complete daily tasks, sitting when driving and operating equipment, walking around inspection sites, carrying equipment and supplies, climbing onto equipment, and using foot controls to drive trucks and operate equipment.
  • Occasionally kneeling or crouching when using a level and monitoring equipment, bending to connect parts or use tools, and balancing when mounting and dismounting heavy equipment; daily lifting shovels and other equipment, pushing/pulling equipment, reaching for of handling tools and supplies.

Protecting and enhancing equipment validity over a time

  • Operator regularly performs with exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as extreme heat or extreme cold, dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, animals/wildlife, toxic/poisonous agents, violence, disease, or pathogenic substances.

Qualification:-

  • Knowledge of basic equipment operation skills and safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of operating either Cranes, Excavators, Forklifts, Bulldozers, Dump trucks, Backhoes, Graders, Front-end loaders or a combination of all related equipments and tools
  • Knowledge of loading and unloading equipment from vehicles used to transport it
  • Knowledge of Cleaning equipment after use and disposing of any collected scraps or waste
  • Problem-solving skills to diagnose issues with equipment
  • Strong oral communication skills to interact with other workers on the jobsite
  • Basic writing skills to accurately complete reports and other paperwork
  • 5+ years Good noncommercial driver’s license history to indicate a habit of safe driving
