Vehicle Operation:

• Safely operate a variety of heavy goods vehicles, including lorries and trucks, with a C license classification.
• Maneuver vehicles through various road and traffic conditions, including highways, urban areas, and construction sites.

Loading and Unloading:

• Load goods onto the lorry, ensuring proper distribution of weight, securement of cargo, and compliance with loading regulations.
• Unload goods at delivery locations, following proper procedures to prevent damage or injury.

Route Planning and Navigation:

• Plan efficient delivery routes using GPS navigation systems, maps, or route planning software.
• Navigate through traffic and road conditions safely, optimizing routes to meet delivery schedules.

Vehicle Maintenance:

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the lorry, checking for mechanical issues, fluid levels, tire pressure, and overall vehicle condition.
• Report any maintenance needs or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel for timely resolution.

Documentation and Compliance:

• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery logs, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle inspection reports.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, including weight limits, driving hours, and tachograph regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid C category driver's license with CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification.
• Previous experience as an HGV driver or lorry driver preferred.
• Good driving record with knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
• Physical fitness and stamina to perform loading and unloading tasks and operate heavy vehicles for extended periods.
• Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
• Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
